18K gold sapphire ring by Erich Frey.
Erich Frey was a German born goldsmith who lived in South Africa for 25 years - from 1952 until 1977. During this time he brought innovation to the design approach of local manufacturing goldsmiths. He drew inspiration from the South African landscape, plant life, African art and the abundance of local precious and semi-precious stones. An artist by nature, his modernistic and contemporary approach to his designs is clearly seen in this minimalist yet charming 18K yellow gold ring, set with a rich, untreated, 1.15 carat natural blue sapphire.
